VISION

The Faculty of Maritime Studies at the University of Kyrenia, which has been providing uninterrupted education since 1996, envisions becoming a nationally and internationally accredited, reputable, and sustainable academic unit that delivers education, research, and applied training in maritime studies, marine sciences, and marine technologies in full alignment with internationally recognized quality assurance standards.

Building on its long-standing institutional experience, the Faculty aims to be a leading center of excellence that ensures academic quality, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in all educational and administrative processes. Through outcome-based education, evidence-driven quality management, and stakeholder-oriented governance, the Faculty seeks to shape the future of the maritime sector while contributing to the sustainable use of marine resources and the advancement of the blue economy at regional and global levels.

MISSION

The mission of the Faculty of Maritime Studies at the University of Kyrenia is to provide high-quality, accredited, and internationally compatible education in the fields of maritime studies and marine sciences through its departments of Fisheries Technology Engineering, Marine Biology, Ecology and Oceanography, Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering, Maritime Management, and Marine Engineering, grounded in its academic heritage and experience since 1996.

In accordance with quality assurance principles, the Faculty designs and delivers its educational programs based on clearly defined learning outcomes, aligned with national and international maritime standards, accreditation requirements, and sectoral expectations. Teaching and assessment processes are continuously monitored, evaluated, and improved to ensure student-centered learning, academic rigor, and professional competence.

The Faculty is committed to fostering analytical thinking, problem-solving, ethical responsibility, environmental awareness, and leadership skills among its students by integrating theoretical knowledge with practical training, simulation-based learning, internships, and industry-oriented applications.
