Ocean going Marine Engineer, Narqab Rishad Hamid was born in Mombasa, Kenya on 11th July 1995. Graduated from the University of Kyrenia in 2020 at the Faculty of Maritime with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering. Throughout his career, Narqab has served in various engineering roles with reputable organizations such as Raffles Shipmanagement Services, Comarco Supply Base Ltd and the Kenya Ports Authority. His career kicked off as a Marine Watch-keeping Engineer on a Chemical Tanker vessel with Raffles Shipmanagement Services, the following years he was tasked as an engineer where he had an experience at the dockyard, on service boats such as Pilot boats, Tugboats, and taking part in ship surveys ensuring compliance with the classification society standards at Kenya Ports Authority. He also took part in Dry-docking in China in 2024 on a Tanker vessel. Narqab Rishad’s dedication to the Maritime Industry has driven him to further expand his expertise by pursuing a Master’s degree in Maritime Transportation, Management and Engineering at the University of Kyrenia, strengthening both his knowledge and professional capabilities within the field. He is still actively working as a marine engineer during the summer periods further enhancing his hands-on experience and professional skills.
